Insurance Authority: 85% of claims settled after Tai Po fire

The Insurance Authority says so far, it has settled 1,032 claims related to last year's Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po, which account for 85 percent of all cases.

Payouts totalled nearly 510 million dollars.

A total of 169 life insurance claims have been processed, involving about 60 million dollars. 

For general insurance claims, the body settled 863 cases with payouts of about 450 million dollars. The Insurance Authority says while most claims had been settled, the remaining cases require on-site inspections and damage assessments, and it would continue to follow up with the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers.
