New video has emerged showing what happened during the deadly fire at a packed ski resort bar in Switzerland.
Authorities believe sparkling flares on champagne bottles could have started the fire, though an official inquiry is ongoing.
Investigators will also look into whether the ceiling's acoustic foam cladding complied with safety rules.
CNN has released new video from the deadly fire that tore through Le Constellation bar in the Swiss Alps on New Year's Eve.
Sparklers ignited what experts believe is acoustic paneling on the ceiling before the flame spread rapidly and produced dense smoke across the basement nightclub.
A frantic escape followed. Dozens were trapped in a narrow staircase.
A witness said people were screaming and running around in the inferno. Some who were struggling to get out were all burnt.
This imagery posted by French broadcaster BFM and BBC showed the moment when sparks burst out from the ceiling as partygoers brandished bottles on fire.
A male bartender was seen lifting a woman who held lit sparklers attached to bottles of champagne.
The Swiss chief prosecutor said preliminary investigation shows the fire was likely caused by a certain kind of sparkler on bottles that came too close to the foam-clad ceiling. Relevant people could face criminal prosecution.
